Funds Management
Every contribution entrusted to us represents both opportunity and responsibility. For this reason, transparent and accountable funds management is a key part of how we work and build long-term partnerships. Resources are managed through structured budgeting, documented expenditure tracking, regular reporting, monitoring systems, and independent audits where required. This helps ensure that funds are used effectively, responsibly, and for their intended purpose.
CoVEx Partnership
Centres of Vocational Expertise (CoVEx) are innovation hubs where education, industry, and community come together to deliver high-quality, market-driven training. Operating as part of the Comundo-led programme CoVEx Kenya 2024–2028, they transform TVET institutions and Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) into centres of expertise grounded in competency-based education and training (CBET).
CoVEx works across three regions (Kilifi, Kisumu, and Laikipia counties) with a shared goal: equipping young women and men with practical, entrepreneurial, and digital skills that lead to real employment and self-employment.
In Kisumu County and in collaboration with the County Government, Ujima Foundation serves as the designated funds management partner, ensuring that financial resources are channelled effectively to CoVEx activities on the ground. By handling funds management locally, Ujima Foundation strengthens accountability, keeps implementation responsive to county-level needs, and helps sustain the programme's long-term impact within the Lake Victoria region.
Schneider Electric Foundation Partnership
Ujima Foundation is proud to partner with the Schneider Electric Foundation and the Ministry of Education in advancing technical and vocational education in Kenya through a five-year strategic partnership focused on energy and electrical training.
As the funds manager and implementing coordination partner, Ujima Foundation is responsible for overseeing the transparent management of project resources, coordinating implementation across participating institutions, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with reporting and accountability requirements.
The partnership supports six Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across Kenya with industry-relevant Smart Energy and Progressive Technology equipment, including electric vehicle charging modules, hybrid solar home systems, and augmented reality learning tools.
