Current Projects
Welcome to two new projects we are working on at the moment!

Gardening Project
🌱The Ujima Garden Project – Growing Sustainability Together
At Ujima, we already have something special — our Ujima Food Garden, a restaurant where delicious local meals are prepared and served by our talented graduates. During exam season, up to 30 culinary students spend several weeks in the kitchen, showcasing their skills and creativity.
Now, we want to take the next step toward sustainability — by creating a small vegetable and herb garden, as well as building a compost spiral. These new additions will not only supply fresh ingredients but also raise awareness among our students and staff about how we can use our environment wisely and sustainably.
Our Garden Project is planned for the end of October, and we’ll build as much as possible through upcycling. Together with the whole Ujima team, we’ll roll up our sleeves to construct two raised beds and a compost spiral. We’ve already received kind donations of seeds and plants — now we only need a small budget for soil, stones, and wood. We’re looking to raise up to €250 for this project (290USD /37,000KES)
If you’d like to support this small but meaningful initiative, you can make a donation here:👉 www.ujimafoundation.org/donate
Please include “Sustainability” in the Notes field so we know your contribution is for this project. If you prefer to donate anonymously, we recommend using the Credit Card option (minimum $10).
Should we receive more than our goal, we plan to replicate the garden project at our Maili Saba Camp campus in Nakuru.

ICT Lab Re-Design
💻 A Fresh Start for the Ujima ICT Lab – Empowering Digital Learning
At Ujima, digital learning is a key part of preparing our students for the future. Our Computer Lab in Kisumu has served hundreds of learners over the years — but it’s starting to show its age. We’ve already applied for funding to receive new laptops, expected to arrive in January.
To match this upgrade, we want to redesign the space — turning it into a welcoming place for collaborative learning and exchange. The new design will include a small resource library, upgraded furniture, and a brighter, more inspiring atmosphere.
This makeover will help our students strengthen their digital and creative skills in an environment that encourages teamwork and curiosity.
To make this transformation possible, we’re raising up to €250 (290USD/57,000KES) for materials and interior improvements.
